Gloria is Now Live!
Gloria is a Christmas-themed table runner quilt pattern comprised of patchwork blocks in the shape of little round baubles and mini trees. The blocks are then accented with little hand-embroidered bows to make them look as though they are hanging from ribbons!
The pattern uses traditional patchwork techniques and simple backstick hand embroidery and would be suitable for the advanced beginner and beyond. If you are new to hand embroidery, the pattern includes a diagram showing how to do a basic back stitch. As with all of our patterns, the pattern includes illustrated instructions.
Quilting the Table Runners
This quilting, we saw on Lo and Behold's Instagram. It begins with a 3-inch cross hatch and then waves or curvy lines, I know that's very technical weaving around the grid to create the look of intersecting circles.
For the quilting on th Tree Farm version (below), we used intersecting straight lines that when finished look a bit like plaid. Both of the table runners pictured in this post were quilted on a domestic machine (my Brother SE600 to be specific).
Pattern Options
First up is our typical format, the downloadable PDF file. This is convenient if you are in a hurry to start or you don't want to have to worry about storing physical patterns. I use my iPad for digital quilt patterns eliminating the need to print them. But we understand that PDFs are not for everyone! That's why we are stocking physical printed patterns for Gloria! We are super excited about this and hope to begin offering physical copies of our most popular patterns soon.
Gloria Table Runner Quilt Kits
These two quilt kits are available through Lindley General Store. First we've got the Woven quilt kit, which features a selection of curated fabrics in pinks and greens for a bright and modern aesthetic. Next is the Tree Farm quilt kit featuring primitive fabrics by Pam Buda. This one has a more traditional and cozy vibe.
